Topographic Gems
In the January edition of the magazine, Lapidary Journal there is a small article on my new Topographic Cabochons. These are cut using layers of carved gem materials such as: Onyx, Agate, Pristine, Mother-Of-Pearl and many others. I use a very good quality adhesive (from the Aerospace industry) to assemble the finished stones. These take quite some time to carve but it is worth it because of the unique look of the finished stone.

This is the stone shown in the January issue of Lapidary Journal. This stone is cut from 2 layers of white pristine and 1 layer of black onyx. It has three inset stones: a pink tourmaline, a green chrysoprase and a very nice pearl. This stone measures 23 x 48 mm. |

This cabochon is cut from 2 layers of black onyx with a center layer of cream agate. It has a center set garnet cabochon. This stone measures 29 mm in diameter. |
